Treating from Root

Based on traditional Chinese theory, we believe in treating each person as an individual. We will ask you questions about your personal circumstances and medical history as these may have contributed to your problem. Also, we will take your pulse and tongue readings as these unique traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis methods help greatly in giving us an indication of the cause of the conditions. By taking all this information into account we can make sure that we are not only targeting your symptoms but also treating the cause.

Our principal acupuncturist and Chinese Herbal Medicine practitioner is Mr Ming Xie. He was born into a medicine family and was a qualified doctor from the Guangzhou university of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China, and has over 28 years of clinical experience. In this time, Mr Xie has accumulated an extensive knowledge of a wide range of diseases. He specialises in the treatment of pain, stress-related illnesses, allergic conditions, skin conditions, infertility and IVF support.

With his skills and vast knowledge of both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, Mr Xie has successfully treated many patients. He is both enthusiastic and committed to helping his patients and finds it very rewarding in achieving clinical results when treating difficult and complicated cases.

Mr. Ming Xie is registered with the Association of TraditionalChinese Medicine and Acupuncture(UK) (ATCM), a professional regulatory body for Chinese Herbal Medicine andAcupuncture in the UK.

Disposable fine needles are inserted into specific points of the body along meridians that form a network of pathways connecting the skin and internal organs. The aim is to stimulate the flow of energy Qi in the body and can alleviate a whole variety of disorders. The World Health Organization (WHO) has identified 40 different medical conditions that are treatable by acupuncture. The list includes back pain, migraine, menstrual problems, menopausal problems, asthma, depression, joint pain, arthritis, rheumatism, high blood pressure, insomnia and cystitis. It is now being used in some maternity units to alleviate discomfort during childbirth. It has also been used to alleviate a range of emotional problems (e.g anxiety, stress, depression), addictions, respiratory ailments (e.g sinusitis, hay fever) and digestive disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbal medicine is a truly holistic form of medicine, concentrating of strengthening the patient’s own immune system and corrects the imbalance of internal organs. Dry herbs are to be taken as tea, tablet form, powders and lotions and are prescribed on diagnosis to improve the general condition of the patients and correct the body’s imbalance. The herb drink tastes bitter but try to put up with it. The result will be worth it. If you find it is difficult to drink, add some honey or sugar.

Acupressure

Therapeutic massage stimulates the flow of energy Qi in the body using finger pressure on specific points in the body. The correct imbalance relieves pain and achieves harmony in the body’s system.
